The ospreys have set up home in their new eyrie situated on the banks of the appropriately named Osprey Loch. They have refurbished the nest and the male is impressing his mate by bringing her regular supplies of fresh rainbow trout from the adjacent lochs.
Bird watchers have an unique opportunity to observe at very close quarters these magnifcent birds who appear unphased by the closed proximity of anglers and walkers.
There is also the opportunity to watch herons stalking sticklebacks in the margins, swallows and martins scooping flies off the surface of the lochs and if you are very lucky a tantalising glimpse of the kingfisher as he spears small fish in the stock ponds.
The Puddock Pond is a haven for frogs, toads and newts.
